The typical Korean gradient lip does go towards pink or red tones, but you can really experiment however you want with this effect. Tip: You can really use whatever colors you want here to create a gradient effect. You don’t necessarily have the product reach the edge, but make sure to blend well. You can really choose any type of lip product except oils or glosses, as long as it is blendable. Start from the middle and slowly blend outwards. Then use a lip color close to your natural lip color to create a base. The point is just to create a more blurred effect. You can achieve the same effect by extending your foundation over your lips. Using a little bit of concealer, cover the edges of the lips, blending inwards to create a neutral base. I think the trick to getting good lips is to use lip masks such as the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask or honestly just plain old Vaseline (Vaseline Lip therapy is also amazing). Therefore, for times like this where you want to have moisturized lips, you wanna stear away from the lip balm and instead go for a lip mask. I recently found out that normal lip balms have a tendency to make your lips drier with ingredients like phenol, menthol, and salicylic acid. This way, it can sit for a bit while I do the rest of my makeup and become smooth and soft when I’m ready to work on them. It is still a good way if your lips are hydrated and really nice to begin with. We always love to apply the neutral colored lipstick first and dab the tint or dark lipstick at the center of your lips. When I do my makeup, I usually like to do my lips last but moisturize my lips first. For lips like mine who tends to be dry and flaky, the effect won’t be as cute and healthy-looking The secret is the ORDER of application. We all deal with chapped lips and imma say it straight, it’s not easy to always have perfectly moisturized lips.
